I was able to tour The All American Home and I found hexagon tiles scattered around a fireplace for a bit of whimsy and unconventional style. This screams BE CREATIVE! Think outside the box and you will come up with a variety of ways to add details to walls and floors that make your home unique just like you are.
From Hexagons to herringbone and chevron, adding patterns on your floor tile or shower walls will add sparkle.
This walk in shower was created using simple cream tiles used vertically with a row of glass tile as you walk in to keep it from looking cold.
Everything from Concrete, marble, glass and mosaics will enhance your space.
The way you lay a flooring pattern can really spice up whether it is trendy or not. You can pick a very classic floor but lay it in a herringbone pattern to add drama to any room.
Here we used a Linear Tile for a fireplace- it is simple but the flow of the linear lines creates a pleasing aesthetic.
Another popular trend is using ample patterns for tiling. Here we see a traditional look of tile like grandmas laundry room being used for floors to backsplashes and fireplace walls.
And don’t forget walls that we wouldn’t normally think about. Here a Herringbone pattern replaces wallpaper in a powder room.Herring bone and Chevon patterns are showing up everywhere, as well as laying a room on a diagonal.
So, when it comes to picking out your tile for your next project or when you’re building your home, keep in mind that skies the limit. Grab a few different styles of tile and find patterns and arrangements that will add details all your own – consider it your own piece of art.
